Visible only from the sea - Scandola

Located in the municipality of Osani, just outside the limits of the Scandola nature reserve, it is circumvented by boat, formerly called the Imbuto tower, it is built on a height at the bottom of Elbo bay and at the away from any dwelling.

The bay which shelters it was a protected anchorage on the west coast, with fresh water, in the valley which opens out at the bottom of the bay. The inhabitants of Girolata who once cultivated gardens there drove their herds to these places which were very difficult to access. On the heights, almost troglodyte rustic dwellings have been fitted out as shelters.

The site is totally forbidden to the public and therefore has no coastal path. Only the bypass by boat is authorized, and it is a delight for the eyes.
